September 17, 2018 / National Art Portfolio Day is Sept. 30 at VU
VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University will host a National Art Portfolio Review on September 30, 12-4 p.m. (EDT), at the Center for Art and Design, 917 North Third Street.
Students considering careers in Art and Design and related fields such as Art Education, Animation, Interior Design, Fashion, Film, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Photography, Theater Design, Studio Art, Web Design, and more are encouraged to attend. Students are encouraged but not required to bring examples of their work.
National Portfolio Day brings nationally accredited higher education art and design program representatives to VU to review portfolios of junior and senior high school students and transfer college students. Students can have their portfolios reviewed and receive suggestions on the strength of their work. Students can also gather information about majors offered, study, scholarships, and career opportunities in art and design fields. School representatives will also have information about transfer of credits, degree requirements, financial aid, and more.
In addition to VU, representatives expected to attend come from Art Academy of Cincinnati, Ball State University, Columbus College of Art and Design, FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Herron School of Art and Design, Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University, Maryland Institute College of Art, Miami University, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts, and Western Michigan University Frostic School of Art.
All participating schools are members of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. NASAD is the only national professional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education for higher education institutions in the visual arts.
