VINCENNES, Ind. - An Evening of Jazz will feature guest artist Galen Abdur-Razzaq performing a repertoire for jazz flute on Sept. 26, 6 p.m. (EDT), at Vincennes University’s Jefferson Student Union. The performance is free and the public is invited to attend.

Abdur-Razzaq’s concert is in conjunction with a performance masterclass and history of jazz lecture he will present for VU students at 11 a.m. at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Abdur-Razzaq is an arranger, composer, director, educator, and writer with an extensive performance career. He is also a riveting speaker on the topic of jazz and has performed at colleges and universities for more than 30 years. A former educator, he holds a master’s degree in Education and Performing Arts from Rutgers University and he studied music at Berklee School of Music in Boston. Embracing his love of music and desire to continue educating, he offers an engaging and enjoyable path to music appreciation through his music program comprised of music performances and lectures.
