ABOUT “OTHELLO”

The war is over, and Othello, a peerless and good-hearted military commander, is returning home to marry his love, Desdemona. He meets the hate and anger his dark skin and foreign origin provoke head-on; but he is not prepared to be consumed in the machinations of his most trusted servant, Iago, who spins a web of deceit that spreads and entangles everyone in its path. National Players brings Shakespeare’s celebrated tragedy into modern light, spinning its central themes of institutional racism, unconditional trust, and the nature of identity into a barbed and brutal story of our contemporary world.

ABOUT “ALICE IN WONDERLAND”

All Alice wants is a little entertainment in the middle of a boring picnic. She spots an unusual rabbit and chases it down a deep, deep hole. what she finds when she lands is more strange and exciting than she could have ever imagined. In this high-energy, world-premiere adaptation, the National Players follow Alice through a constantly shifting world as she explores a Wonderland never seen before, created with live projections, shadow puppetry, original music, pop-up books, flamingo mallets, a caterpillar tango, and more.
