VINCENNES, Ind. - SHOP1801, an online store operated by Vincennes University students in the Information Technology Bachelor of Science Concentration program, opened March 20. The project is a collaboration with VU’s Old Post Bookstore and offers for sale a select variety of VU branded merchandise. The store will operate through April 12 and online product shopping is available at www.vuit.rocks/shop1801.
SHOP1801 has been made possible through a partnership with Regions Bank. "This program gives students the chance to experience firsthand the multiple aspects required to run a business, including social media marketing, building and running an e-commerce web store, order fulfillment, shipping, and finances,” said Marc McNeece, Regions branch manager.
Profits from the fundraiser will be used to establish a Regions Bank Trending Topics Fund through the Vincennes University Foundation. Scholarships provided from the fund will aid students enrolled in VU’s Technology Bachelor’s Degree program, with a concentration in Information Technology.
Details about the SHOP1801 project are available by contacting Jaci Lederman, department chair of Information Technology.
