February 18, 2019 / Two industrial maintenance training workshops available at VU Jasper

JASPER, Ind. - Registration is now underway for two industrial maintenance training workshops that will be offered at the Vincennes University Jasper Campus.

Basic Pneumatics will meet on two Tuesdays, March 19 and 26, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST). Students will learn fundamental pneumatic systems used in industrial, commercial, agricultural, and mobile applications. Coursework will cover industry-relevant skills, including how to operate, install, analyze performance, and design basic pneumatic power systems. The Model 850 includes a filter/regulator, pneumatic motor, cylinders, various valves, manometer, flow meter, gauges, and pneumatic hose and fittings set. The course fee is $600 and includes materials and lunch.

Basic Hydraulics will meet on three Tuesdays, April 2 and 9, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 16, 8 a.m. to 12 Noon. Students will learn the physical principles of hydraulics and how hydraulic mechanisms are used in real-world applications. Training will also include constructing hydraulic circuits, and a component’s function in a circuit. Other topics are pumps, gauges, hydraulic motors, cylinder and numerous valves, including schematic symbols for each component. The course fee is $750 and includes materials and lunch.
