April 19, 2018 / Vincennes University earns Top Military Friendly school designation

VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University has earned the designation as a 2018-19 Top 10 Military Friendly School.

A survey by the Military Friendly Company identifies organizations whose commitment to serving the military and veteran community is comprehensive in scope and meaningful in terms of actual outcomes and impact. More than 1,400 schools participated in the 2018-19 survey with 941 earning the designation.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. For the first time, student survey data was taken into consideration for the designation.

“Vincennes University is proud to be recognized for our long history of serving those who serve our country. This ranking reflects VU’s commitment to delivering quality education experiences for active duty and veterans of our armed forces in ways that maximize the accessibility and flexibility that are so important to military students.” stated President Chuck Johnson

The 2018-19 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine which can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Victory Media with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

Daniel Nichols, Victory Media’s chief product officer, stated, “Our ability to apply a clear, consistent standard to colleges creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages colleges to invest in programs to provide educational outcomes that are better for veterans.”
