December 4, 2019 / Vincennes University Mid-Year Commencement set for Dec. 7

VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University will hold Mid-Year Commencement exercises on Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, 20 Red Skelton Blvd.

Vincennes PBS will live stream the ceremony at https://www.vincennespbs.org/.

Dr. Laura Treanor, provost and vice president of Instructional Services, will preside and Elaine Burklow, president of the Faculty Senate, will convene the ceremony. VU President Chuck Johnson will address the graduates. Presenting the degrees will be Deans Anna Miller, College of Business and Public Service; Michelle Cummins, College of Health Sciences and Human Performance; Joan Puckett, College of Humanities; Ty Freed, College of Technology; and Dr. Cynthia Ragle, College of Social Science, Performing Arts, and Communication.

Taja Davidson, assistant provost of Student Affairs and dean of students, will provide the welcome. Savannah Linenburg, interim director of Alumni, will induct the graduates into the Alumni Association. College of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Dean Curt Coffman will present Academic Honors. Adam Booher, director of Student Activities, will present the Blue and Gold Cord Awards.

Bryce Mattox, president of the Student Government Association, will provide a moment of reflection and a closing statement. Jayna Carie, a VU alumna, will lead the singing of the National Anthem and the VU Alma Mater. The VU Campus Police Cadet Honor Guard will present and retire the Colors.

Admittance to Commencement is via ticket only. Doors open at 10 a.m.

Guests with special seating needs should arrive early. Doors will open for accessible seating beginning at 10 a.m. Wheelchair seating is available on a limited basis and ushers will provide assistance. Wheelchairs are not provided.
