December 9, 2019 / Vincennes University offering short-term Allied Health Training in 2020

VINCENNES, Ind. – Enrollment is now open for noncredit allied health training with Vincennes University throughout Indiana.

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) training program is a nationally recognized medical assistant standard. Vincennes University’s program prepares students to perform patient clinical skills in a medical office setting. In the 14-week course, students learn to administer medications, perform blood draws, perform electrocardiograms, obtain laboratory specimens, educate patients, and maintain clinical equipment in an ambulatory care setting.

Orientations are scheduled throughout January with classes starting in February in Jasper, Bedford, Indianapolis, North Vernon, Mooresville, Fort Branch, Greenfield, Noblesville, and Vincennes.

Students who complete the program receive a non-credit Vincennes University Certificate of Completion and are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association national exam. The course is $2,659 and includes a textbook and certification exam fee.

Vincennes University’s Dental Assistant Training Program with Dental Radiographer Certification prepares students to sit for the dental radiographer certification exam. In this program, students become familiar with all areas of entry-level dental assisting and how to function as an assistant in a dental practice.

Registration is available for classes in Jasper and Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.

Students who complete the Dental Assistant Training Program receive a non-credit Vincennes University Certificate of Completion and are eligible to sit for the Dental Radiographer Certification Exam. The course is $2,099 and includes a textbook.

Vincennes University’s Sterile Processing Technician training program prepares students to function as sterile processing professionals in multiple healthcare settings. Sterile Processing Technicians perform decontamination cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.

Class begins the first week of January at the Ben Davis High School Career Center in Indianapolis.

Students who complete the program are assigned an 80-hour non-paid externship in preparation to sit for the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) SPD Technician Certification Exam. The course is $2,195 and includes textbooks. Students who complete the training program receive a non-credit Vincennes University Certificate of Completion.
