April 19, 2018 / Vincennes University to provide short-term CNC training in Lebanon

LEBANON, Ind. - Vincennes University’s Gene Haas Training Center will offer short-term night classes focused on CNC Training starting April 30.  Courses were specifically developed for individuals already working and looking to gain experience in CNC machining.

CNC Operator Training begins April 30 and the deadline to register is April 26. To register, or for more information, contact Martha Thomson, 812-888-5284, mthomson@vinu.edu, or visit www.vuhtec.org.

According to Dan Flick, director of VU’s Gene Haas Training Center, courses have been developed for individuals that may be new to the manufacturing environment, for or students with some experience in machining. Students attend class four nights per week for two to four weeks, resulting in industry credentials in the high-demand CNC field.

Students seeking assistance with tuition and fees may qualify for Indiana’s Next Level Jobs initiative. Next Level Jobs is part of Governor Eric Holcomb’s Next Level Indiana agenda to continue the positive momentum of the state. Two million Hoosiers need additional training to compete in the 21st Century workforce, and there will be more than one million job openings in Indiana due to retirements and the creation of new jobs in the next decade.
