VINCENNES, Ind. — More than 150,000 employers and labor-management
organizations in the U.S. utilize apprenticeships to develop workforce
talent. Vincennes University partners with multiple employers
throughout Indiana and across the nation on industry-based
apprenticeship programs, providing technical instruction and degree programs.
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), November 8-14, 2020, was
established by the U.S. Department of Labor to celebrate the impact
apprenticeships have in helping Americans learn skills for jobs in
growing industries.
"Apprenticeship is a proven way to obtain the skills and
knowledge for high-wage, high-demand careers," VU Vice President
of Workforce Development and Community Services David Tucker said.
"We are proud to support National Apprenticeship Week and
showcase Vincennes University’s role in training and educating a
skilled workforce in this country."
VU is the training and education partner on apprenticeship programs
with employers large and small, including Cummins, General Motors,
Caterpillar, and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), in
diesel mechanics, CNC machining, and construction trades.
