VINCENNES, Ind. - Thornton Wilder’s classic, “Our Town,” will be presented by the Vincennes University Theatre program starting Oct. 26 at VU’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. Show dates and times are Oct. 26, 27, 28 at 7:30 p.m. (EDT) and Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. The show is rated PG and is limited to those over the age of 5.
Tickets are on sale now and cost $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for non-VU students. VU employees and students will be admitted free with their University ID. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.vinu.edu/red-skelton, by phone at 812-888-4039, or in person at the Red Skelton Box Office. Box Office hours are posted on the website.
“Our Town” features a cast and crew of students and community members. ABOUT THE SHOW
“Our Town,” written by Thornton Wilder, celebrates 75 years in production this year. Described by Edward Albee as “…the greatest American play ever written,” the story follows the small town of Grover’s Corners through three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage,” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die. “Our Town” is produced in a special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
