What is ETS?
Educational Talent Search, which has been continuously assisting students in this area since 1991, is an academic enrichment program you can join at your school. It is part of the TRIO Programs, which are funded by the U.S. Department of Education. During the school year your Educational Talent Search adviser will visit your school and meet with participants either in groups or individually.
What happens in the ETS meetings?
Your Educational Talent Search Advisers conduct workshops and activities that provide you with valuable information - but in fun ways. Not only do you learn about college, careers, study skills, and life skills, you improve your interpersonal skills by interacting with others.

How much is the cost of these services?
All services provided by the Educational Talent Search are absolutely FREE.
If I participate in ETS, do I have to attend Vincennes University?
While the Educational Talent Search staff is employed by Vincennes University, the program is not used as a recruitment tool for the university. Rather, participants receive assistance in applying to any college, university or other qualified institution of post-secondary education.
Is ETS for academically gifted students?
No, Educational Talent Search is not specifically for academically gifted students. The students in our program have a wide range of abilities. Students are encouraged to be on a rigorous college prep curriculum.
Who is eligible?
Students in participating schools that are:
- U.S. Citizen and/or Permanent Resident
- First-generation college-bound student
- Submit a completed Educational Talent Search Application
- Between the ages of 10-27
- Meet income guidelines
*Two-thirds of Educational Talent Search participants must meet the federal first generation/ income guidelines
