Architectural Studies/CAD Involvement

Involve yourself
The classroom and studio is just the beginning.  We believe education is more than just lectures and exams.  Our students enjoy an entire experience in the Architectural Studies/CAD program at Vincennes University where they never feel small.

To aid in developing student leadership and enhance learning, our program offers many opportunities including an Architectural Club and work-study or peer tutoring employment.  Our department holds pizza parties throughout the year and an afternoon of bowling at the beginning of each school year as a way for the students to interact with each other and form new friendships. The program also sponsors awards and scholarships to students who have demonstrated Academic and Professional excellence.

The Architectural Club is a student-run organization which sponsors many activities including the annual tube race down the Wabash River, movie night, raising money to buy Christmas gifts for local, needy families and an annual field trip to tour our Architectural world.  These events help shape the school and offer a camaraderie amongst the students which strengthens their educational experience.

Every year, our programs award the G.S. Ridgway Scholarship to a returning second year student.  This scholarship is based on academic achievement during the first year and financial need.  The scholarship includes free tuition and books for their second year of studies in the program.  An award for the Most Outstanding Senior is also given annually during the graduation ceremony at Spring Commencement.
