EMT Training

Emergency Medical Training cares for patients at the scene of an incident and while taking patients by ambulance to a hospital. An EMT has the skills to assess a patient’s condition and to manage respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies.

This is a 6 credit hour course that meets 2 nights a week and an occasional Saturday for the semester. This program starts in the Fall semester. Students who successfully complete the course are eligible to take the State Certification written and practical skills exams for the Advanced EMT.

Students must complete a minimum of fifteen hours of clinical/emergency room and fifteen hours of ambulance experience as part of the course requirements which are in addition to classroom time. 6 class hours.
